hey folks,
running several notebooks ubuntu 11.10. notebooks
sda1 /boot ext4
sda2 crypt (/, ext4)
sda3 crypt (swap, one-time-key)
also, user homes additionally encrypted.
looking backup solution allow disaster recovery, ie, backup should contain full system can restored without serious intervention. (besides creating partition layout, cryptsetup , editing fstab/ initramfs/ grub).
clonezilla neat, eating 1:1 of disk space, premium can't afford. also, single file restoring pain, too.
make things worse, fileserver ntfs, rsync out of question.
/ ideas appreciated.
(how guys encrypted systems?)

bacula agent based backup solution. have great luck restoring systems. can bare metal recovery if set correctly. however, encrypted file systems, have have file system mounted.
