Thread: Can't install any distribution under kernel 3.0.0

the first time tried move ubuntu, windows, downloaded ubuntu oneiric. created bootable usb drive, , rebooted. when booted usb, started loading drives (i saw in screen) bun when loaded kernel, screen shut down. know installation kept running, because later on, ran ubuntu usb, , listened login sound.
got suggestions, 1 of go previous ubuntu versions, did.
now, got bored of being behind actual releases, , want try gnome 3.2 bad!
knew couldn't install oneiric, went , downloaded fedora 16.
same problem: screen shuts down.
downloaded opensuse 12.1: same problem
downloaded arch linux: same problem
kubuntu 11.10 (which silly, because it's same ubuntu): same problem.

it'd stupid it's kernel issue, because it's obvious. (unless it's not , i'm stupid)
but, question is:
why happen?
should wait until ubuntu pp (precise pangolin)?
there way fix problem?
change if connect monitor through vga connection?

i'm under kubuntu 11.04 because trying install gnome 3 on ubuntu 11.04 without having mess unity or gnome 2 (i tried update g3, happened g3 session messy) [maybe shouldn't have done in first place]

can solve of doubts have me slave 1 week...
ok, i'm kidding.

nope, not same, big difference.

maybe, maybe not. 1 thread have read thinks kernel problem. can drop older kernel?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
