Thread: Double Boot Loaders

hi guys. have been using ubuntu 11.10 while along win 7. use ubuntu learning terminal thing, , still noob @ it. decided windows boot loader instead of ubuntu's grub2 switch between os.
this, used easybcd, edited stuffs there, , restarted machine while on win 7. seems procedure load windows boot loader fine, unless 1 strange thing happened ; both loaders load.
i. e. when start machine, first grub2 loader ubuntu (selecting ubuntu start os too.). when select windows 7 list of grub2, windows boot loader loads, , allows me choose between windows 7 , ubuntu. when choosen ubuntu, again grub , have choose between os...

want is, want remove ubuntu's grub loader, can have clean windows boot loader on startup....

from ubuntu remove grub.

sudo apt-get --purge grub

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
