Thread: How to copy files from local machine to server using SSH file transfer protocol?

i'm using ubuntu server 10.04 lts, hope transfer files server using local machine through ssh / putty.
know how?

if transferring files directory or two, sftp work. part of ssh, have if have ssh. there sftp clients built filezilla, nautilus, dolpin , quite few others.

if planning on transferring large number of files large number of directories, rsync way go.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
