Thread: Ideas to create a download area accessible from web browser on my LAMP server

hi all!

have lamp ubuntu server little applications address book , similar things.
users asking download area, password access, download pdf , doc documents.
i've been able realize php , html quite hard mantain (no database, changes done "by hand").
maybe i'm ignoring kind of technology or solution solve problem in far easier way and, if i've understood bit of linux, bet there

need users open page , log in using browsers (we have mac, linux, windows).
after login have list of files , can download files click.
that's it.

in dream application automatically file list linux folders , auto create download list.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
