Thread: Multiple Partitions, Full Disk Encryption, Enter Passphrase Once at Boot

just there's no confusion, i'm trying configure system this:

i've got general idea have do, nothing concrete:

  1. partition system.
  2. install ubuntu full disk encryption temporary partition.
  3. move directories correct partitions.
  4. modify initramfs, fstab, , cryptab reflect changes.

stuff i'm not sure about:

  • since i've got keys in encrypted partition , no other partition has been mounted yet, believe i'll have mount key partition /, let fstab , cryptab magic, , somehow unmount temporary / , let real / take over. fstab , cryptab, however, stored in real /, it's going have somehow done within initramfs.

is there special reason want 3 partitions (excluding boot&key partitions)?

why not do:
- boot&key partitions.
- os partition (with persistent swap file).
