Thread: Need help to get video out over HDMI with Nvidia ION

i have shuttle xs35gt (not v2) nvidia ion graphics , both vga , hdmi out. installed ubuntu 11.10 live cd , hooked philips 47" lcd hdmi cable only. nothing happened, no picture, tv said "no signal".

rebooted , took cable out , in again couple of times , got perfect 1080p resolution , sound on hdmi (output2 think). used skype , watched youtube , happy. after have gotten "no signal" , whatever o not out on tv. thing got out of can work , to, how can recreate every boot???

have tried both ubuntu x64 , x86 , fedora 16 live cd, have updated latest nvidia driver nvidia site , have tried surely 50 or more xorg.conf files have found on net works folks different lcd screens. nothing works. 640x480 , "signal not supported" "no signal".

have not been able modelines because problem philips not send thee edid signal have read. when try different guides out modes supported nothing, ubuntu / nvidia not find device. therefore have tried random xorg.conf files have found , hoped lucky sometime. have been on week , give if don't help.

have ubuntu 11.10 x64 latest drivers nvidia installed , works great on dell u2410, full hd when connect on hdmi tv still saying "no signal", go crazy on this.

is hdmi cable connected thru' avr ht amp or direct ?

can clarify when "no signal" ?
mean after reboot before x server starts ?

there nothing special hdmi modelines tv.

should not need xorg.conf file..
backup/delete existing file..
can interrogate edid & save file nvidia-settings.

if add /etc/x11/xorg.conf lots of debug info in /var/log/xorg.0.log:
option "modedebug" "true"

can remote connect computer ?
log file reveal if tv not detected x server.
