Thread: Shared internet disconnects in clean 11.10, but no when upgraded 10.10->11.04->11.10

i'm having strange problem:

installed clean 11.10 desktop, 2 nics: 1 configured dhcp router, other sharing internet.

shared connection keeps connecting/disconnecting every few seconds (i can tell because of constant messages in desktop).

if install clean 10.10 version, shared connection works flawlessly. upgraded 11.04 , 11.10 , every time connection works fine.

so, problem seems not hardware related, it's present when install clean 11.10 (or 11.04)

checked can think of:

* yes, re-downloaded 11.10 iso , burned second cd install again. same problem.

* no, there's nothing else installed: installed ubuntu , change network settings share connection.

* yes, switched cabled , change shared nic <--> internet nic. problem's still there, both cards differents, it's not specific of 1 of them.

* if change shared connection auto-dhcp, continous connect/disconnect message dissapears , can ping card without problems.

* installed updates both clean 11.04 , 11.10 no luck.

* changed different pc 2 network cards. still same.

* used 32 bits desktop version *most* of time, tried 11.10 64 bits version same results.

ideas appreciated.
