recently, have installed ubuntu 11.10 in home desktop dual booting window os 7 when shut down ubuntu 11.10 freezes showing ubuntu log in page,this happens means after 2 or 3 boots.some reason have wited shutdown doesn't 15 minutes press restart buuton of cpu restart hte computer , open window shutdown.can know problem if yes not min send solution of problem otherwise have delete ubuntu 11.10 os problem solution.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
