Thread: System crash after connecting to blu ray player

hey guyz,

here thing:
i'm using ubuntu 11.10 (unity). here, in school got blu ray player watch movies. connected pc hdmi port, shared screen , watched movie. when disconnected hdmi port system got hammered. mean personal settings went default , things that. , hard part i'm not able change them back. of settings blank , not reacting. e.g. if delete default icons dock , log out , in deleted icons or cant change background or theme.

there met problem that? dont have backups , dont want reinstall , stuff. o_o

in advance

the enormous problem read in message don't have backup.

don't understand mean by: "so connected pc hdmi port, shared screen , watched movie."

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
