Thread: Xubuntu upddates.

i have installed xubuntu 11.10 around month ago. have not updated yet.
today thinking update saying 190mb of data downloaded(too large).
in setting-> updates. found set install unsupported updates. should downloaded these unsupported , pre released updates or not?
in simple words want ask setting should use updates. setting related images in attachments.

"important security updates" , "recommended updates" should remain enabled.
"unsupported updates" enables unsupported backports repository. unsupported versions of future packages still in development. packages may contain new features, may introduce new interfaces, , have not been sufficiently tested included in 'proposed' repository.
"pre-released updates" enables proposed repository, testing area updates. repository recommended interested in helping test updates , provide feedback.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
