Adobe Flash is lagging badly..help!!

i new here, if possible.  have never had issues adobe flash, last 48 hours has been lagging badly, or video's won't load @ all.  using windows vista, o/s google chrome on laptop.   doesn't seem matter o/s use though, worse using ie , firefox.   can offer advice...i can't play 1 game love on here now.  advice appreciated.  doubt matters, in australia.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
