BASIC set up choices...

hi, i'm looking basic of instructions on set up..... think know answer , there seems posts 'about' want clarity.

 

i have iphoto '11 , pse 10. want way organize photo's within iphoto. main reason iphoto way integrates mail , other mac programs... realize people hate it, and, agree... it's hardly ideal. however.... tried importing iphoto available in pse menu , seemed logical , simple way go.

 

i horrified learn in fact, pse had created 20gb folder on hard drive photo's on it.... don't want 2 copies of photo's. want organized iphoto library...

 

i've searched around these forums , files, can't seem direct answer or explanation of this. it's frustrating , annoying basic set feature not seem clear. in preferences there parameter under preferences> files> saved files> browse button able point nominated folder..... under impression make iphoto library??... it's not available...

 

it doesn't seem can want in way want it.... perhaps logic wrong... thought having word 'organizer' in pse solve problems, no cause duplicate files... 2 sets of photo's not solution.

 

i'm guessing need import pse , delete iphoto library?.... can still use iphoto then?

 

i'm confused..... i've deleted of photo's pse selecting , deleting... i've made sure adobe folder 'organizer' empty.... can still see photos??......

 

so seeing iphoto library?.... changes make affect iphoto?.....

well, main question want use iphoto organize photos or organizer? must choose, sooner or later. if want use iphoto, don't use organizer , vice versa, or you'll make crazy.

 

never, never, never try poke around in iphoto library outside iphoto. fastest way corrupt , lose photos, why pse doesn't make available via file>open.

 

if want keep organizing photos iphoto have 2 options:

 

1. set pse external editor iphoto in iphoto preferences. when edit photos in pse, don't change either name or format (you may need set editor preferences>on first save save on existing file) , iphoto remember original plus recent set of edits. however, doesn't work quite versions in organizer. original must revert , lose edited version.

 

2. export copy of photos iphoto, edit copies via file>open in editor, make changes like, , reimport edited copies iphoto new files. lets save many different states , versions of edits like.
