Correct Export Settings for an HD project originating in Canon xh-a1

i have come premiere pro using final cut express. captured footage canon xh-a1, edited it, added music , ready export file both dvd , youtube.

 

here problems begin. thought quicktime format give me preset hd video. not. looked @ several alternatives , succeeded in confusing myself.

 

1) best setting render file use dvd creation?

 

2) best setting rendering file use youtube video creation? "b" section question " h264 should start when creating youtube?

 

all appreciated. tried using lynda.com , not sure answers work this.

1 = mpeg2 dvd , import 2 files (separate video , audio) encore authoring

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
