Gif animation - Sub animation + randomizing

hello everyone!
i want create repeating, pixel art gif animation. basic idea nyan cat swapped spaceship, in usual video resolution. made assets, , thought can use star animation sub animation, can tell appear in random heights, move right left , start @ random frame, made gif that. fail see sort of controls let me planned. ideas/methods solve this? perhaps should use other program?

wrong program. after effects. ps not allow nesting , retiming have "expand", copy&paste bits , pieces relevant frames in new frame timeline final gif.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
