Muse CPU background usage

i can understand app i'm using @ max capability sucks processor power, but, have muse idling in background few hours, indesign, , muse still use 15% of cpu, when indcs6 uses less 5%

is due air ? doing in background ? makes laptop's fan turn nothing…

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
