Re-installing PSE 10

unable re-install pse 10 - w-7, 64 bit; 

pse 10 working fine - problem may have started when uninstalled pse 8 last week or installed nik software today - pse 10 accessed in lr4 last year+

today accessed pse 10 once desktop icon  - other after there no linkage to  program  via desktop or other sources.    tried number of times install disk , download.  tried un-install several times with no success in instances -  following message came in install or uninstall process

"setup detected welcome screen - pse 10 in use - please close running exe(s)"

i not detect welcome screen anywhere in desktop, etc.  shut down several times make sure nothing "hanging" around

down loaded adobe aplication manger 7.0 - no help

please me resolve upsetting problem can not use pse 10 photo work.

please check task manager related process it's referring to.

in addition, can try following basic troubleshooting steps :

 

> enable hidden admin account on windows 7 ( ref :  http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-adminis trator-account-on-windows-vista/ )

> disable non-microsoft startup services. (ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-servic es-windows.html )

> disable antivirus softwares ca, norton,mc afee etc. temporarily computer.

reboot , install , check.

 

if installation still encounters errors might need to  troubleshoot install logs : http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5 -cs5.html

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
