Thread: 11.10: is there a 'Desktop' layout with 'descriptions' of elements?

yesterday bit,,, mean. loaded 11.10 , user of suse since beginning, not prepared huge difference in one, gnome , two, 'the latest' rendition of it, ubuntu 11.10..

frustrated... can't 'right-click' on , 'taskbar' doesn't 'autohide' or actually, anything, sits there taking space. bar on left seems useless unless things wright letters , chat on internet.. well, covers people guess. lol

i'm getting *question, promise..

ubuntu 11.10:
first thing i've noticed clearer head when window open (eg, 'home' opened ugly panel on left), if hover on *'taskbar' , 'the menu' appears (file edit etc.. )..
so,, can open 'home' , menu, go>network.. gist.

*my question: there diagram, image or 'map' of 'the desktop' identifies parts of or elements of 'the desktop' use right terms when referring things 'taskbar' , 'system tray'.. hate using ms terms in xwindow.

again,
Спасибо,
landis.

to hide bar, install compizconfig-settings-manager, select unity plugin , chose autohide. careful mess in there though

add favourite applications, launch them right click them on panel , choose keep in launcher. opposite remove them.
