Thread: 11.10 network trouble: can't find wlan0

i'm trying install drivers network card on 11.10. able work on 11.04 using instructions here:

in 11.10 @ step 5, when try command:

sudo ifconfig wlan0 down

message:

wlan0: error fetching interface information: device not found

appreciated, i'm not experienced ubuntu.

could paste output of:

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
