Thread: Old Samba version on Ubuntu Server 11.04

apologies if have posted in wrong place.

have ubuntu server 11.04 64-bit running on hp proliant microserver , version of samba installed via apt-get 2.3.5. hundreds of errors coming in samba logs , having investigated these found bug fixed in newer versions of samba.

believe current stable version @ around 3.6, i'm puzzled why 2.3.5 current installation candidate 11.04 64-bit?

can tell me how can upgrade without compiling myself? i'd prefer use ppa if possible.

argh - scrap that, noticed version says 2:3.5.11 - it's 3.5.11.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
