Thread: python, better function than chr()?

i have array of integers, each item ranges 0-255, , need convert them ascii characters. problem python's chr() extremely slow when you're working large array. array of 200kb's takes on 10 seconds convert , useless. knows of faster function this?

false alarm, apparently problem 'cython' , not python, surprise.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
