clicking on pages (e.g. A-Master) no action-dead

clicking real mouse or trackpoint or touchpad give 0 response on page layout panel. problem shows when set new 10 page facing document , when used john wiley (publisher) book files adobe indesign cs6 digital classroom. frustrating (duh), can't evaluate or learn program decide if want buy it. running on 8 gb memory thinkpad t61p.

 

thank , help...reinstall somehow ? 4 days 30 days...

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
