ICC Color Profiles Not Recognized in Advanced Settings

i civil engineer using acrobat windows 7 print plan sets. co-workers , using identical computers, drawings, , printers plans print lighter or strange colors. on closer inspection find our icc color profiles under advanced settings different. tried download , install same 1 (ideally making our prints same), when install color profile nothing changes. can see profile in folder structure, acrobat isn't recognizing it.

the setting should have is:      working cmyk: u.s. web coated (swop) v2

instead have:                                   working rgb: ;@

the folder is:                                     c:\program files (x86)\adobe\acrobat 10.0\resource\color\profiles\recommended

i've tried reinstalling acrobat, , printer drivers no improvement. know it's obvious, it's escaping me right now.

thanks in advance.

obviously, something isn't identical in configurations.

the key going on may be in fact seeing rgb profile being used printed output if co-workers seeing cmyk profile. indicative of difference in page description language being used printed output.

postscript output references cmyk profile printing. printing via gdi printing such hp pcl or raster printers reference rgb profile since gdi totally rgb-based.

one scenario , co-workers share printer both postscript , pcl. co-workers accessing printer via postscript driver , accessing printer via pcl driver. if postscript driver printer isn't installed, install , see whether makes difference!

ps: speaking, uninstalling , reinstalling software, such acrobat, may relieve frustration, in our experience, very, very, solves underlying problem!
