PPro not using all resources?

i having trouble editing footage more 3 gopros using multicamk system.

also, both ppro , aftereffects render slowly.

 

i have amd quad-core system 8gb of ram, 7200 rpm drives , nvidia 550ti graphics card.

 

i have thought might need upgrade ram - in ratching system performance monitor on last couple of projects - have noticed neither ppro nor ae using existing resources?

 

they average 60% of cpu , 5gb of 8 available?

 

am missing something?

 

i need edit 3-4 different camera views regularly , ocassionally 6 cams.

 

please advise.

i can see several potential problems here.  first, trying edit gopro on amd.  should consider i7 3770k or i7 3930k such media.  second, have 92 processes running.  edit rig should have maybe 40, 50 tops.  third, 8gb pretty low complex projects.  adobe tools save memory other things, won't use all, upgrading 16 or 32 might not bad idea.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
