Thread: 11.10, not finding ssid

hi all,

i'm trying set lubuntu 11.10 on old dell inspiron 300m, , used alternate install cd. believe connected wireless router during install, lubuntu , running, won't find or connect same network. also, had ubuntu 11.10 on there, , wireless worked straight away that. wireless card intel pro/wireless 2200bg.

saw postings on wpa , wpa supplicant, seem little old i'm try, baffles me worked minimal settings on same release version of ubuntu. never had problem connecting wireless networks that.

help, , insight why, appreciated.

nevermind -- fixed problem. had thought merely not finding network, network manager; did have in network connection applet on tray saying "device not managed". first answer on page set me straight: http://askubuntu.com/questions/69480...ce-not-managed did use alternate install disk, maybe common that. cheers

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
