Thread: Can PHP be used for system administration

hi,

far know shell scripting, python, perl used linux system administration. php used same purpose ie system administration on different linux distros such fedora, ubuntu, debian, suse, mint etc.?

php not everyone's first choice, because it's usually associated preparing web pages. having said that, there command-line version - i've used couple of small scripts run via cron.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
