Thread: Exaile over network

all,

i'm having trouble exaile running on wireless network. i'm not sure post question because don't know whether @ ubuntu or exaile.

i'm seeing intermittent skipping when exaile playing mp3s. mp3s it's playing shares on windows xp home sp3 box. it's accessing them on wireless connection. when skips occur, there multi-second pause , exaile continues song if had been playing along. example, song might stop @ 2:30, have 5 second pause, , start playing @ 2:35 if nothing happened.

i've tried these things without making difference:
- updating on linux box via aptitude
- updating recommended on windows xp box via windowsupdate
- setting priority of exaile -15
- disabling plugins in exaile

when check wireless signal strength via conky bar graph, it's @ 50% or more.

when run mp3 that's on local drive of linux box, there no skipping. i'm suspecting file not being sufficiently buffered while it's trying play don't know how address that.

setup is:
- exaile 0.3.2.2
- ubuntu 11.10
- linux zippy 3.0.0-14-generic #23-ubuntu smp mon nov 21 20:34:47 utc 2011 i686 i686 i386 gnu/linux

i'm accessing windows shares using shortcuts made in nautilus.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
