Thread: How use socks5 proxy in Ubuntu ?

i want send connections through socks5 proxy , when add proxies in firefox network option , use http proxy load websites , want use socks , beacuse in country http proxy ban in reasons .
proxifier in windows work , send connection socks , bust want softwar ein ubuntu .

installed proxychain 3.1 , configured :

random_chain  chain_len = 1  tcp_read_time_out 15000  tcp_connect_time_out 10000  [proxylist]  socks5 	ip 1080 user pass

but when open firefox ip address did not change .
in terminal use proxychain prefix open website in firefox did not change .

please me

can open terminal , ssh account?

ssh -nd 1984 user@host.tld

, can add network settings in firefox, or use foxyproxy add-on manage it.
