Thread: Intermittent Sound Card Popping Ubuntu 11.10
hello all,
have searched internet issue , haven't found describing i'm experiencing. ubuntu 11.10 (64-bit) installed on computer following specs.
motherboard - asus pz68-v-pro (on board sound)
cpu - intel i7 2600
ram - 16 gb
issue follows: when ever listen audio file popping sound audio "flickering". strange.
work systems administrator know basic steps troubleshooting issue , have found operating system related due following.
- have tried 2 sets of speakers on same operating system , same issue has happened.
- have tried same speakers on windows 7 booted different hard drive on same computer , no popping.
reason believe ubuntu 11.10 specific because can visually see audio icon flickering muted unmuted. thats best way can describe it.
not mp3's or shell. believe driver issue. question has experienced or know fix this.
thanks!
try purging pulse configuration files:
rebootcode:rm -r ~/.pulse ~/.asound* ~/.pulse-cookie sudo rm /etc/asound.conf
ignore 'no such file or directory' errors
