Thread: Linux and Rosetta Stone

hello guys wondering if guys had advice on do. if never use linux, ubuntu. know little of ubuntu too.

plan install on 1 of machines old. single core, small hdd, running windows xp.

feel more secure windows xp , run better. heard linux ubuntu has amazing hardware support.

mother using computer. doesn't spend time technology or gadgets doesn't know computers. use watching youtube maybe once month. , use rosetta stone. rosetta stone reason keeps computer. sadly can't find linux/rosseta stone solution. have heard linux ubuntu @ making programs run if not linux program.


please , suggest.

people have had mixed results getting rosetta stone run under wine (the system allows run windows apps under linux): http://appdb.winehq.org/objectmanage...ation&iid=1867

specs of machine, , own older version of rosetta stone or purchasing new version (which has higher system requirements previous versions).

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
