Thread: problem with Brighness

hi
1- i'm leave windows , migrate ubuntu 11.10, 64bit on laptop (lenovo y450).
fn doesn't work change brightness.
searched more can't fix problem.

2- how can understand used hardware on laptop. because don't graphic brand (intel or nvidia)

if doesn't way solve problem please suggest me choice linux version fedora or ...

from last night reading post intel graphic problem on 11.10. think version totally has got problem intel vga ...
what's idea ? must 11.4 ?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
