cleaning cache
i want clean out cache / database i've finished big string of projects. don't expect have more work these projects, , if i'm content let ppro re-conform files , make new cache entries. i'm thinking reducing files should peformance bit, , reduce hard drive useage quite bit.
thing is, i'm reading in files this:
cleaning database , cache clean button not remove files associated footage items source files still available. manually remove conformed files , index files, navigate media cache folder , delete files.
i'd leave projects on hard drive sit (i periodically make copy of entire drive; copies sit in file cabinet offline). means source files "still available" if i'm not using them. means cleaning cache does... nothing, if read files correctly.
if i've still got source files available, there way clear cache of old files other manually digging through cache files?
when use media cache database > clean (red),
you delete database files only.
to delete media cache files themselves, navigate
to specified location (green), open folder named
'media cache files', select delete.
any still active projects (or restored archives) re-create the
cache database , re-generate media cache files when opened.
