Thread: cannot run ubuntu 10.04 or any on my laptop.

i have installed ubuntu 10.4 in hp laptop using wubi.exe . os installed when boot selecting ubuntu os purple screen appears , laptop hangs.finally heatout occurs , systems shut down. please me out.iam novice user of ubuntu.

what system specs? version of windows running wubi in?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
