Thread: Dual Boot Partitioning Help Needed

i attempting dual-boot ubuntu 11.10 , windows 7 (which installed). while working installation's partitioning editor, accidentally made sort of mistake , created 200gb "unusable" partition. did selecting sda2 partition (where windows 7 installed) , selecting "change...". there resized partition, had "do not use partition" selected when resized it. stuck 200gb of unusable space , not know how fix it.

how convert "unusable" space separate usable partitions can complete ubuntu installation? also, need make swap partition, or installation make 1 automatically?

far how hard drive partitioned:

appreciated.

thanks!

looks shrunk down windows partition , have 200gb of unallocated space. cancel installation , open gparted give unallocated space filesytem (e.g. ext4 dualboot). should enough space installer give option "install next windows" handle mounting points, swap space , bootloader automatically..
