Thread: Installing Windows alongside Ubuntu [no /boot/grub/menu.lst file]

yes, windows alongside ubuntu. know know... particular compatability reasons.
can partition drive no problem. issue when grub overwritten windows' boot manager. can restore via live cd, issue lack /boot/grub/menu.lst on machine, reasons unknown. [particular grub 1 or 2?]

alternatively, i'd image drive, , install after xp has overwritten entire drive, don't have time.

current: bt5r1-gnome-x64 [based on ubuntu 10.04 lts]
installed: windows-xp-x32
idk if should go in "other" os section. don't see need, really, should work same (and has far).

for pretty long ubuntu uses grub2, no longer have /boot/grub/menu.lst. suggest read through dual boot guide, has section on installing windows after ubuntu.
