whilst had windows xp on laptop had avg flash accelerator helped computer manage 720p videos (just). wondering if there similar avaible in software center. had quick didn't see , either or manage overlook wanted.

recommend add blocker stop annoying flash ad's draining cpu?

sorry, have not come across can speed flash. don't version of ubuntu you're using. if it's old computer have, may want consider using lubuntu (for low-spec machines) instead of ubuntu.

regarding ad-blocker, have @ adblock plus (also available chromium).

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
