Thread: ubuntu 11.10 64-bit PC server installation on Dell T710 tower machine

hi,

installed ubuntu 11.10 64-bit server setup in dell t710 tower machine.
http://www.dell.com/us/enterprise/p/poweredge-t710/pd

installation smooth. after installation tried update machine using,
sudo apt-get update [this command success]
sudo apt-get upgrade [this commad failed below error]

error encountered setting crossplatformui:i386
e: sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned error code (1)

, tried install bridge utils,
sudo apt-get install -y bridge-utils [even command failed above error]

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
