Thread: Weird glitches and bugs?

i'm running ubuntu 11.10 on brand new system built ( gigabyte 880gma-usb3, amd phenom ii x3, 1 t hdd, 8 gb g skills ram), , i'm experiencing number of glitches , bugs don't know how fix.

first , prevelant noticed system occassionally freezing when either try "restart" or "switch users." both freezes goes purple ubuntu screen , gets stuck. doesn't happen every time, enough.

next glitch second occurring. forget it's called, know how can drag window side, , orange-ish box appears show window lock place? orange box appears , doesn't go away until click window management thingy , off it.

, finally, recent , least pervasive, when trying empty trash, little bubble pop says "empty trash" wouldn't go away, , unity bar wouldn't "hide" when had browser window open. fixed restart (which froze first).

i'm not sure if these related issues, or if it's simple need update something, appreciated.

this sounds hardware incompatibility.

open additional drivers (while connected internet) , see if lists drivers. if does, enable them , see happens.
