batch file converting xls (MSO 2003) to .pdf

i'm trying convert excel files ms office 2003 pdf using acrobat pro xi , receive error

 

- cannot open file

 

the files open fine in mso 2003.

 

please help?

what platform?

what version of acrobat?

is office installed on computer?

is destined server?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
