Clipping Path Not Aligned in Typical Display

ok, strange thing going on... here's see when placing images clipping paths in typical display mode

as can see clipping path isn't aligned correctly. however, when change high quality display, lines up..?? know what's going on here?

ugh!.. update:

 

it looks though changing high quality display doesn't fix other clipping path images, clipping path stays misaligned. but, when export test pdf, looks fine..?

 

befuddled..

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
