CS5 PostScript Type 1 Font FHMX Import not Working (10.6.8)

i've had problem while , haven't taken time ask what's causing it. when importing older drawing freehand mx standard notes use (univers condensed family) no longer recognized. what's weird working fine when importing cs4. i've tried different methods of getting them work. cleaning font cache files, installing font directly in of system font folders. directly in illustrator font folders. nothing working. right have go through notes entered in fhmx , re-style them univers condensed version show in illy.

 

any other ideas going on this? i'd avoid have fix fonts imported files.

do still have cs4 on computer, may want keep copy can open fhx files , save them .ai files.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
