Frame fitting options in object styles

we producing multiple pages using tagged templates , importing xml - populate both text , images.

 

back in cs3 - our object styles using frame fitting worked perfectly. since have upgraded cs5 , cs6 - when xml imported frame fitting element of our object styles no longer being honoured - when clicking on object frame, shows style has been applied overrides - , adding random offsets frame fitting crop settings.

 

we producing large numbers of pages through xml automation, therefore it's time consuming open every page , clear overrides/reset frame fitting on every affected graphic.

 

i've seen on other questions/forums may known bug - have up-to-date info on fixes or workarounds?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
