Import speeds suddenly slowed down

i using lightroom 4.4 windows 64bit morning import photos.

 

i'd set off 2 batches of hundered or so, 1 after other , both ran fne. switched different cataog, 12000 files smaller, , tried set off import similar location similar settings, of 200 photos.this time import took 45 minutes, far longer ever has or should be.

 

this afternoon, switched usual catalog , tried import 630 images (a big 1 know), , that's taken on hour import 300! don't know has brought sudden derease in import times, know , how can fixed.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
