Multithreading in flex

i have application calls .net service saving large amount of data. while being done, chat module in right frame of screen active. user should able chat while data being saved (screen blocking should not occur). can tell me version of flash builder/flex support multitasking/

multithreading?  also, can provide me example same?

flex not officially support actionscript workers made available in lastest runtimes.

 

but network calls asynchronous , not block.  if blocking preparing chunk of data saved can try workers or try pseudo-threading.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
