Thread: Alternate install does not detect LVM

hi,

set ssds , 2 vertex 2 following this:
http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/fo...pport-on-linux

used 11.10 alternate install. when got partition setup showed sda1 , sdb1 261mb, each separate , not raid1 expected, sda2 , sdb2 should have been lvm raid0. installed , find not have expected, 51gb. missing? web forum on setup said "you ready install now, remember not format partitions again in installer". did not format them.

thx.

david

my fdisk -lc /dev/sd{a,b} looks this, see sdb looks wrong, not know if result of install. had checked on completion of setup of these ssds , looked right, shown in oczforum article.

disk /dev/sda: 60.0 gb, 60022480896 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 7297 cylinders, total 117231408 sectors
units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
i/o size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
disk identifier: 0x000b66e7

device boot start end blocks id system
/dev/sda1 * 2048 511999 254976 fd linux raid autodetect
/dev/sda2 512000 117231103 58359552 8e linux lvm

disk /dev/sdb: 60.0 gb, 60022480896 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 7297 cylinders, total 117231408 sectors
units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
i/o size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
disk identifier: 0x0002a5cc

device boot start end blocks id system
/dev/sdb1 2048 511999 254976 83 linux
/dev/sdb2 512000 117231103 58359552 83 linux

51gb not big enough restore old system onto, need 110gb out of lvm raid0.

thx.

david
