Thread: Compiling the Kernel

i'd understand few things compiling kernel:
uncompressed folder more 400mb.

if select driver , modules intend use, folder reduced in size once kernel recompiled?

what have extracted source code. source kernel compiled from. source doesn't change when compile, size of compiled kernel smaller if compile less thigs in it.
