Thread: fglrx - no acceleration for video

hello everyone,

have problem fglrx, drives me nuts.
use ubuntu 11.10 , itx mainboard amd e350 apu (output via hdmi).

seems when play video file in totem or vlc, won't use gpu process instead of cpu.
when starting video cpu usage go idle full immediately. video shows artefacts , stutter.
bad machine intended our media pc.

used fglrx-drivers ubuntus "additional drivers" , tried manual installation of fglrx.

using fglrx ubuntu get:

hardware (lspci):
code:
00:01.0 vga compatible controller: ati technologies inc amd radeon hd 6310 graphicsati
fglrxinfo:
code:
display: :0 screen: 0 opengl vendor string: ati technologies inc. opengl renderer string: amd radeon hd 6300 series graphics opengl version string: 4.1.11005 compatibility profile context
so imho looks crispy.

have idea missed?
in advance!

- obs-

you have install xvba-video package, , use vlc take advantage of it.
