Thread: FIPS security on Ubuntu server


hi,

asked client if know of hosting companies meet federal information processing standards (fips). @ time didn't know meant honest, having vaguely heard of fips when looking aes encryption while ago job. have since had bit of fips try work out client wants, although honest i'm not sure know themselves..

far can tell there list of standards relating security etc, of apply web server , don't (http://www.itl.nist.gov/fipspubs/by-num.htm). there such thing fips certified host or bit more complicated that? need set dedicated server myself data stored using aes encryption, tamper evident seals prevent physical access etc etc meet these standards? (i have experience in running linux servers not much!)

hoping can enlighten me bit @ stage have idea tell client...
