i have netbook doesn't have cd drive. used usb->ide cable connect cd drive, no longer have burner working (old 1 crapped out on me) also: upgrading release did not go well. not have jump drive, , think making bootable jump drive did not go well. (back when had jump drive) long story short:

there binary can download start fresh install of ubuntu, ubuntu?

you can make bootable usb ubuntu. there tool inside system settings, need .iso of version want install , usb pendrive @ least 1 gb big.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
