Thread: JAVA applet issue

i've got issue i'm trying resolve 1 of college websites. called wimba , loads speech recording program via java applet. problem got gets stuck @ "initializing audio" long time after 30mins says "connecting server" in applet window nothing happens. of course bottom of page gives me warning platform, "please use supported windows or mac platform". itś not user agent issue i've tried that. go java websites, shows got java 6 23 installed not i'm missing java. far i've gotten had windows work ubuntu, know of fix or provider of content, wimba aka blackboard collaborate not allow it.

this issue resolved in thread when mentioned worked ubuntu 8.04lts. confortable using older version of ubuntu without need virtual box or dual booting windows run java applet.maybe changes made ubuntu 12.10 iceteaplugin can have more compatibility, until not going upgrade.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
